Wouldn’t it be nice if there was some magic cure that could do this overnight? With all the advancements in technology, the cures we have found and the medications we have created this complexion destroying pest exists! How I wish that someone would discover a drink that you could have with lunch that would prevent them from ever coming in the first place. It wouldn’t matter how vile it tasted as long as it was the magic cure for how to get rid of blackheads. However since that hasn’t happened I thought I would share a few tips that would help in the meantime.
First things first, keep your hands off! The worst causes of blackheads are the dirt and oils that are all over your hands. Early prevention is definitely the most effective treatment here. Even though it is tempting to rest your head in your hands and rub your eyes or forehead during the day, this is a main cause. To repeat something that I am sure you are tired of hearing, picking at blemishes on your face only makes them worse. The one zit that you manage to get your grubby little fingers all over will suddenly erupt into a patch of ten just from the friction of your messing with the first one. If you have to touch your face please be sure to wash your hands first. Only let clean surfaces touch your face and replace washcloths or face sponges regularly to prevent bacteria from forming.
While you are concentrating on prevention pay attention to the makeup you use. The best technique to getting rid of blackheads is to be sure that the products you use are non-comedogenic. This means that the products will not clog your pores. Most of the makeup will say specifically if they are or not. Natural makeup with a mineral base will be the best route and having days where you skip makeup altogether will be helpful as well. There are many more techniques available, simply look at the next few pages.
